Banish the Winter Blues

We all know that Winter is a dangerous time for keeping trim tummies. The colder the temperature becomes the less motivated you can be to get up and exercise, and the more enticing an extra hour in bed can be.

But since it's the first day of June in Australia and therefore, our first day of winter, I wanted to give you some super-smart tips of keeping the winter weight at bay and keeping your motivation on track. So I've asked our trainers in the office what THEIR favourite winter workout tip is so that I can share them with you...

Olivia Coombs - Sales Representative
"Get up in the morning and go for a run to your nearest cafe. Make it an excuse to have a coffee - you're then running for a reason and achieving something on the journey. A good coffee is a great motivator - just make sure it's with skim milk!"

Clare Hozack - Master Trainer
"Just do it - don't think about it. You can also try taking up a team sport such as netball or touch football as other people will be relying on you to make it to games. No excuses allowed! Being part of a team makes you responsible for more than just yourself."

Amanda Boyle - Head of Education
"Try having a nice hot cup of green tea before you train - you'll get a boost of warmth in the morning and its not a heavy drink. Green tea is also a stimulant so will help you train better but will not stress your body like coffee can."

Cameron Russell - Business Development
"The best Winter Workout tip? Get yourself a training buddy - someone to motivate you and who you can motivate too. Don't bother with anyone who you feel doesn't have the drive to keep up with you or isn't at the same level of motivation. If that fails - I'd suggest you wear a beanie. It keeps the heat in."

I hope this helps as a starter to your Winter Workout planning!

All the best - Elise x
